Textbook Required The Art of Argument (Student Edition) ISBN 9781600510182
Do your kids argue with you? Let them argue with me! Informal Logic is a valuable tool for your students and should be done in a way that animates learning. Learning what logical fallacies are and how to spot and avoid them will give your student an indispensable structure to filter good from bad reasoning. It will help them in their writing and speaking and we want them to have fun along the way.
We will have lively discussion, projects, and outside examples encouraging your students to want to learn. There are a few quizzes along the way to keep them on their toes, but even these will be done as contests and competitions. The topic is too fun to teach it in a stuffy boring way. Join us for an elective that will help teach your kids how to think for themselves reaping lifelong rewards.
*If you have a student with special needs, please contact the teacher directly to discuss how to best accommodate your child.
**All Life Adventures activities & classes require an annual family registration. Once you’ve registered your family, to enroll in a class, pay the $10 enrollment fee and in the notes tell us the name and age/grade of the child you are enrolling. 2nd semester sign-ups will need to re-enroll their child through this process. The teacher will contact you within one week of enrollment to give class details and be available for questions.
