Required Materials The student will need to have access to a computer during the week, and there will be 1-4 books that are required reading for the class. This list will be released in late spring/early summer, as well as the dates they need to be read by. Students are welcome to work ahead in the textbook readings, so using the library for these books is a possibility.
Throughout this comprehensive course, students will sharpen their writing, public speaking, and analysis skills as we work through the themes and methods used in various forms of storytelling. The aim is to tie everything back to a student’s pre-existing interests through written and spoken assignments.
This class is a great opportunity for students wanting a solid foundation for further high school or college English classes, students who enjoy books, art, television, film, or stage, students lacking in an English credit who historically excel at science or math, and students who enjoy storytelling but dislike its traditional teaching methods.
This class will be one English credit per semester. This first semester class is a prerequisite for the second semester.

**All Life Adventures activities & classes require an annual family registration. Once you’ve registered your family, to enroll in a class, pay the $10 enrollment fee and in the notes tell us the name and age/grade of the child you are enrolling. 2nd semester sign-ups will need to re-enroll their child through this process. The teacher will contact you within one week of enrollment to give class details and be available for questions.
