This 2 in 1 class is both lecture and lab for Biology. Two grades will be given for this class. One grade for lab and one for classroom material comprehension.
Homework is geared to be about 4-6 hours per week; reading the chapter and turning in a weekly chapter assessment.
Class time will consist of a lecture with notes covering a review of the textbook (which will need to be read at home,) and review of the assignment. The lab portion will be an activity, experiment, or model based on the texts with a lab sheet.

To present the amazing aspects of life by helping students gain a solid foundation in the study of Biology.

1 ½ inch three ring binder with pockets for notes and homework, safety goggles for labs, nitrile gloves, composition book, pencil, textbook.
Materials will be presented in PowerPoint format with accompanying lecture notes.
Topics covered Cells and Heredity, Bacteria to Plants, Animals, Human Biology and Health, Ecology
Biology Lecture is where we take an in depth look and fully develop understanding of key concepts.
I will be available through text or email for questions.
The questions will come from lectures and the assigned homework materials.
Homework, quizzes, and grades:
Reading and homework questions will be assigned weekly. The expectation of the class is to have all assigned materials read and completed before class. Quizzes and unit tests will be given over the assigned materials. All paperwork will be kept in the 3-ring binder until the end of the semester.
The labs are designed to apply the lecture material information to the practical world. We will be using the microscope and preparing our own slides to observe what is hidden from our eyes in this amazing world.
We also have prepared slides to see the structures of plant cells, paramecium, amoeba, diatoms and many more.
Dissection specimens and equipment are included in this course.
Lab grades will be based on participation, completing the lab report, and quizzes over the materials included in the lab.
