A hands-on chemistry class that reinforces core chemistry concepts through engaging cooking experiments.

Using Discovering Design with Chemistry by Jay Wile*

A hands-on, lab-based chemistry class where students learn core chemistry concepts through cooking. Weekly reading from Discovering Design with Chemistry is completed at home, and all tests and high school credit assignments are parent-graded. Co-op time is primarily dedicated to engaging kitchen labs that reinforce major topics such as atomic structure, chemical reactions, stoichiometry, acids and bases, thermochemistry, and more.

Differentiated assignments support both middle school and high school students. High school students may earn chemistry credit when completing all assigned readings, labs, and tests at home.

Minimum of 8 students required for the class to run. An additional cooking supply fee will be assessed once enrollment is finalized.

** All classes require online family registration and enrollment. Year-long classes carry a $50 yearly enrollment fee. This enrolls your student in the class for the entire year. There is no need to re-enroll for 2nd semester. The cost listed in the title of the class is per year and can be divided into 2 semester payments due no later than the first day of each semester. This can be done here online or send in an envelope labeled with your student's name & the class name with cash or a check made out to Homeschool Life Adventures the first day of each semester. Registration and Enrollment Fees are non-refundable.
