Little Patriots: Exploring American History (St. Therese Session A 9:00 a.m.) 1st-4th, $100*/Semester

From Wild West adventures to the Underground Railroad, students will experience American history as a lively journey filled with stories, games, and discovery.

Your little patriot should experience American history as a living story. This non-graded, interactive course emphasizes hands-on learning, creativity, and cooperative exploration—making history vivid, tangible, and memorable. Your little patriot will be discovering our nation through stories, games, and hands-on fun.

Activities include:

- Wild West games and Native American dress-up

- Pioneer-era crafts and group projects

- Storytelling about American icons, the flag, and national heroes

- Models of the Underground Railroad and other historical simulations

- Patriotic song and poem memorization

Students will also practice research, presentation, and memory skills as they prepare short weekly items to share with the class. For the grand finale, families are invited to participate in a Celebrate America Party, bringing patriotic dishes inspired by the United States and sharing in the joy of history come alive.

The course is designed to be messy, interactive, and fun—ideal for the classroom environment, though audio resources and flexible at-home activities ensure that learning continues beyond the school day. Students will leave the year with a deep love of their nation, an understanding of its stories, and pride in its heritage, celebrating the 250th anniversary of the United States in style.

** All classes require online family registration and enrollment. Year-long classes carry a $50 yearly enrollment fee. This enrolls your student in the class for the entire year. There is no need to re-enroll for 2nd semester. The cost of the class is due no later than the first day of each semester in an envelope labeled with your student's name & the class name with cash or a check made out to the teacher. Registration and Enrollment Fees are non-refundable.
