Understanding the Scriptures - Religion (St. Therese Session D 1:00pm) 9th-12th, $100/Semester

Dr. Scott Hahn’s best-selling classic, Understanding the Scriptures , presents the history of salvation explaining how the covenants between God and his people in the Old Testament are fulfilled in the New Covenant established by Jesus Christ. Tracing a path through salvation history, Dr. Hahn explains the various books of the Bible and the importance of each biblical event, while highlighting the covenantal theme.

The first semester will focus on the Old Testament, looking into all the evidence that foreshadows Christ’s coming.

The second semester will connect the New Testament to the Old, illustrating how Christ fulfills all Old Testament prophecy and creates the New Covenant.

Student will be expected to do all assigned reading before class and come ready to discuss. Class will be half lecture, half discussion, with periodic quizzes to check retention. There will be no midterm or final.

** All classes require online family registration and enrollment. Year-long classes carry a $50 yearly enrollment fee. This enrolls your student in the class for the entire year. There is no need to re-enroll for 2nd semester. The cost of the class is due no later than the first day of each semester in an envelope labeled with your student's name & the class name with cash or a check made out to the teacher.
