World History for High School (Waynedale Session C 10:30am-11:10am) 9th-12th $100/Semester
The main purpose of this World History class is to give students the opportunities that are harder to replicate at home: discussions, speeches, projects and other explorations and activities that help bring the materials to life in an interactive way.
For this Class we will be using Master Books: World History (High School), both the textbook and teacher's guide. Link here: https://www.masterbooks.com/world-history-revised-...
If you want high school credit for this class you will need to purchase both the Textbook and the Teacher’s Guide. Completing those is what will give you the full High School Credit for World History, not just taking this class.
Things to Note:
The teacher will NOT be grading the workbook material that will be up to your parent/teacher.
There is an additional resource recommended with this material as well, called So Noted. It relates to Genesis and helps students understand how their Worldview shapes their understanding of History. We will not be going over that in depth in this class, so it will be optional material for you to choose to use with the related assignments or not.
Each week on the class syllabus corresponds with the assignment weeks as described in the Teacher’s Guide (workbook). Students should be able to follow along with the assignments as mapped out, but will need to plan on additional time outside of class to complete this. Class Syllabus can be viewed here (activities may be subject to change): https://docs.google.com/document/d/1bHks25N5WS9pCG...
Also, plan to have the co-op week’s assigned chapter read before class. It’s not necessary to have all the assignments completed, but reading should be finished ahead of time so each student can contribute to our in-class discussions.
Homework for this class will be minimal but includes: Having read through the assigned chapters for each week and preparing for presentations or activities as outlined on syllabus or described in class. Again, to get high school credit, it’s your responsibility to complete the other assignments as stated in the Teacher’s guide.
The main purpose of this World History Class is to give students the opportunities that are harder to replicate at home: discussions, speeches, projects and other explorations and activities that help bring the materials to life in an interactive way.
Let's unpack some major moments of world history together in creative and thought provoking ways!
