  • Required Text: Appropriate level of math curriculum based on student’s ability from MATH-U-SEE

COMPOSITION

GRAMMAR

  • We provide a grammar book for you which covers 1st-4th grade. That is a big range and may not quite fit your reader. 
  • Instead, you are free to purchase a grammar workbook of your choice for your child. Our suggestion is Language of God Level A-D (please go with the letter suggestion “A” for 1st grade, rather than the grade suggestions on their website) 
  • Or English for Young Catholics 1, 2, 3, or 4 (based on your student’s grade).

This Seton series is a little more challenging than the previous CHC series and the grade levels are on target for the average student.


BRIGHT IDEAS

Religion:
Each family will receive an online subscription from which students can explore as homework, as desired. Living their faith is the bulk of the homework for this class. Anne Fernandes

Dance:
If parents want to buy ballet/jazz shoes, they can but it’s not a requirement. The kids can dance in their socks and comfy clothes!


Lost Skills:

  • No textbook required
  • Required materials: Composition book, writing utensil, men’s tie to borrow, 1 tea towel, and low/no cost items that will be asked for during the semester as needed (ie: clean jar with lid, needle and thread with 4 squares of fabric cut from an old shirt 5”x5”)


Lego Engineering:
We would GRATEFULLY take donations of LEGOs & Lego Dacta for this class.

RHYTHM AND RECALL (MEMORY WORK)

No materials required. Throughout the year the teacher will use items such as colored scarves, maracas, finger puppets & bean bags - so be on the lookout at thrift stores for sets of 10 or more. THANKS!

No materials needed, all materials are provided; access to the internet & a willingness to spend 5-10 minutes per day reviewing are all that’s needed.
