Discovering Great Modern Artist (St. Therese Mondays Session E 1:50-2:35 p.m.) 5th-12th
Course Description:
This is a FUN year-long introduction to Art History and Artist Study with a hands on project each week. The skill level of the art project is dependent on student’s ability. In class we’ll do a brief study of a modern artist then create our own piece of art based on our inspiration. There will be no tests, but the last class will be an “artists’ exhibition” having each student pick their 3 favorite pieces to display and discuss.
Homework is not required, unless the reproduction is not completed in class. There are no tests.
There is no prerequisite. The artists will be different, as will the projects.
Materials Required No Textbook required.
Required Materials:- art book : minimum of 30 sheets size 11×15 or larger designed for water color and other wet techniques
- starter acrylic art set
- pencil and eraser
- pencil case for holding art supplies
- plastic paint pallet ,
- small pkg of baby wipes (Dollar Tree)
- clean empty pizza box in the car for taking home wet projects

** All classes require online family registration
and enrollment. Year-long classes carry a $50 yearly enrollment fee. This enrolls your student in the class for the entire year. There is no need to re-enroll for 2nd semester. The cost of the class is due no later than the first day of each semester in an envelope labeled with your student's name & the class name with cash or a check made out to the teacher. Registration and Enrollment Fees are non-refundable.
