Our six week series "Book Club Meets..." helps students step into the imaginative and symbolic world of George MacDonald through The Princess and the Goblin and The Princess and Curdie. These classic fairy tales invite readers to explore courage, obedience, conscience, imagination, and the unseen realities that shape our choices.

Through games, guided reading, silly fun, discussion, creative activities, and gentle literary exploration, students will uncover deeper meanings beneath the adventure—learning how stories can teach truth through fantasy. Emphasis is placed on character development, moral reasoning, and the power of trust and perseverance.

Six-week plans are provided for each Book Club Meets class, making this unit ideal for students ready to enjoy rich storytelling while beginning to recognize symbolism and theme in literature.
